How Evidence Check uses your information
Evidence Check is an AT THE CODE service. This notice covers the Evidence Check candidate and the optional AT THE CODE marketing signup.
Evidence checks
Your claim is sent for evidence analysis only when you choose Run Evidence Check. A claim is not made public unless you deliberately create an Evidence Receipt.
Voice, transcription and language assistance
If you choose the microphone, your recording is sent only after you start and stop a voice note. AT THE CODE does not intentionally store the raw recording in the Evidence Check D1 database, KV namespaces or browser storage. The recording is forwarded to OpenAI for transcription so the words can be placed into the claim box for you to review.
If you choose language interpretation, the text you provide is sent to OpenAI to identify the language or dialect and suggest a plain-English interpretation or clearer checkable wording. Evidence Check does not silently replace your wording; you choose whether to use the suggested interpretation.
Voice transcription and language interpretation do not consume an Evidence Check credit, although separate abuse limits may apply.
Imported letters, documents and screenshots
If you choose Import evidence, the selected PDF, text file, photo or screenshot is sent to OpenAI so Evidence Check can explain the document in plain English and identify visible dates, amounts, requested actions, unclear points and factual statements you may choose to check separately.
The candidate sends the selected file directly for that explanation and does not intentionally save the original file in Evidence Check D1, KV or browser storage. The explanation is shown to you first; a statement is not run through Evidence Check unless you choose to place it in the claim box and run a check.
Evidence Check credits and email verification
The planned credit wallet uses an opaque, secure browser session cookie so the service can keep track of your available Evidence Checks. When the credit system is enabled, the wallet records credit balances and transaction state server-side rather than relying on a browser-only counter.
If you choose to verify an email address for the one-check bonus, the verification is transactional and separate from marketing. Evidence Check uses the address to send the verification link, then stores a salted hash to prevent the same address receiving duplicate bonuses. Verifying for the bonus does not add you to the AT THE CODE marketing list.
AT THE CODE email updates
If you enter your email and tick the marketing consent box, AT THE CODE records your email address, the date of consent, where you signed up, and the version of the consent wording you agreed to. We use that information to send AT THE CODE product news, launches and offers.
The marketing box is optional and is not pre-selected. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time using the unsubscribe option included in marketing messages. We may retain a minimal suppression record after an opt-out so that we do not accidentally market to you again.
Children and family products
Marketing updates about family products such as Orish’s World are intended for parents and guardians. Evidence Check does not use this signup to knowingly collect children’s email addresses for marketing.
Public Evidence Receipts
If you create a public Evidence Receipt, the claim, evidence result and public source links become accessible to anyone with the receipt link. Account details are not included in the receipt.
Your choices
You can choose not to join the marketing list and still use Evidence Check. Email verification for a bonus check is separate from marketing consent. For privacy questions or to exercise your privacy rights, contact privacy@at-the-code.com. Marketing emails will also include an unsubscribe option.
